Littleleaf Linden

Tilia cordata

The littleleaf linden tree is a tree that is commonly used for shade. At Seton Hill University, there are many littleleaf linden trees planted. Faculty, staff, and students of the university have had the pleasure of watching one littleleaf linden grow from the time it was planted in the 1940's at the steps of Canevin Hall. A picture of this tree, taken in 1955, shortly after it was planted (left), as well as a picture of its current state (right) can be seen here.
