Douglas Fir
Pseudotsuga menziesii
The Douglas fir tree is named after botanist-explorer David Douglas and is one of the most important lumber trees in the United States. Not only is it important for lumber, but the Douglas fir is a common tree grown to use as a Christmas tree and is a popular tree used for beautification of plots of land (Arbor Day Foundation, 2018).
