Picea pungens

The Colorado blue spruce is a common coniferous tree because of its appearance as well as its utility. Colorado blue spruces are commonly used as Christmas trees in the winter months and are also a common landscaping tree used to beautify plots of land (Arbor Day Foundation, 2018). A Colorado blue spruce was dedicated in memory of Elyse Jeanne Saraceni, Junior Class of 1990 Tree Planting – located southwest of the Administration Building.
